E.C. Baggott Sheet Metal Works began as a sole proprietorship by Edward C. Baggott in 1945. The business was located in the same building it still occupies in midtown Memphis. Primary work provided at the time was commercial and residential gutters and roofing. In the latter part of the 1950's the company expanded it's workforce, and began offering services in all aspects of the sheet metal trade. We fabricated and installed the steeples on many of Memphis' churches. In the late 1960's Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) contracted with Baggott Sheet Metal to manufacture the roofs for all of their restaurants in this area. Those red and white pyramid shaped roofs that we produced are now true American Icons.

Fabrication and installation of residential and commercial HVAC duct systems began in the early 1970's. Commercial kitchen vent-a-hood fabrication and installation was one of the mainstays of the business during the late 1970's and early 1980's.

Ed Baggott's wife, Redell Baggott, took over control of the shop after his death in December of 1977 and continued to do so until her death in 2011, at 93 years of age. Although no longer offering installation service, we continue to fabricate residential/light commercial ductwork and fittings for some of the area's top HVAC contractors. Also, we have been producing residential chimney caps for over 25 years. We still offer our services to the general public. We are now a small family business. The workforce consists of two highly trained mechanics exceeding a combined experience of more than 70 years. Some jobs may be too big for us to handle, but no job is too small.
